JOB TITLE: SUMMER COTTAGE CO-ORDINATOR

DEPARTMENT: Programme

REPORTING TO: Assistant Programme Manager - Residential

DURATION: June - August

TYPE: Residential (flexibility in working days/hrs required)

JOB PURPOSE:

The Summer Cottage Co-ordinator will be a key member of the team,
ensuring the campers feel welcomed, supported and have everything they
need to fully participate in, and enjoy our programmes based on
therapeutic recreation. The Summer Cottage Coordinator will work
closely with staff and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THE POST:

* Oversee the camper experience at Barretstown, creating an
environment that is safe, fun and inclusive.
* Manage camper arrivals/departures, ensuring all tasks (e.g.
cottage set up/clean up) are completed.
* Be the point of contact for campers throughout the session,
ensuring their needs are met.
* Maintain up to date cottage files and ensure that all
administration tasks are completed properly and on time (e.g.
t-shirts, certificates, child profile sheets, birthdays, lost property
etc).
* Work closely with the Co-Cottage Co-ordinators on all tasks, be
the key point of contact for 3 cottages, facilitate daily meetings
with seasonal summer caras and support staff development.
* Work closely with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to support volunteer
training and to conduct regular check ins with volunteers.
* Be a support and resource for volunteer and seasonal staff,
communicating all relevant information shared to management
(behavioural issues, emotional issues, safety issues, staff issues and
concerns)
* Be a key contact for parents, providing timely updates on how
their child is settling into child only camps.
* Adhere to Barretstown Health and Safety policies and procedures
and ensuring that camp is always both a physically and emotionally
safe environment for campers and staff.
* Be actively involved in the design and delivery of camp staff
training.
* Conduct regular staff check ins and evaluations at the end of each
season.
* Provide overnight ‘On-Call’ cover as required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Previous experience of working directly with children and an
understanding of behaviour support procedures
